St. Petersburg Pier

ZDK Security Consultants has been contracted to provide an analysis of service rendered by Covenant Security Solutions (CSS) at one of the City of St Petersburg’s biggest attractions.

ZDK surveyed all aspects of the operation undertaken by CSS to meet the demands and responsibilities at the pier. We investigated a wide scope of areas, including their duties and responsibilities, how they deploy personnel, and the recruiting and retention of personnel once they had been hired. The training program that all guards must go through when hired, as well as ongoing training, was also a point of examination. We reviewed whether the training is conducive to the type of service calls the guards must handle at the pier. ZDK also analyzed the equipment issued to the guards and its adequacy in relation to the various requirements of guard duties, or whether any other tools are needed to be even more effective.

To build a comprehensive picture, we conducted interviews of the city’s Pier management team. These interviews, coupled with subsequent interviews of shift workers and supervisors, provided valuable insight into the client’s perspective and expectations regarding the security services.

It was established that the city’s management team is extremely satisfied with the services provided by CSS. In addition, we have identified a number of opportunities where the existing procedures and protocols can be improved even further. Overall, CSS is doing excellent work at the Pier and has built a trusting relationship with the client.
